G FUEL Promo Cards!

The Binding of Isaac is collaborating with G FUEL to release an exclusive collector’s box which will include two limited-edition Four Souls cards!

“Descend into the basement, fight your way through the darkness and collect items to survive! Introducing G FUEL “Isaac’s Tears” – inspired by Edmund McMillen’s The Binding of Isaac! Isaac’s Tears taste like a sweet, refreshing combination of white grape and pineapple – far more refreshing than actual tears! Upgrade your energy and try to defeat MOM with the only power-up you can drink outside of the basement!”

G FUEL: Isaac’s Tears Collector’s Box description

This collab drops on November 4th, so make sure you’re signed up for the waitlist on G FUEL’s website to have the best chance at scoring these exclusive promos. Here’s a closer look at the cards that will be included in the collector’s edition box:

Isaac’s Tears features a new style of a familiar mechanic, allowing you to add counters each time you roll a die, which could offer some very lucrative synergies. G FUEL provides an always-welcome health boost along with an extra character recharge at the end of each turn. The art for both cards was designed by Yazawa Akio.

In addition to the physical items, on November 4, 2022, The Binding of Isaac on Steam offered a unique daily run featuring G FUEL. A can of G FUEL was available at the start of every floor, with varied, stacking effects. You can learn more about the complete effects and specifics of this daily run on TBIO Fandom Wiki. While it was only playable that day, it was also released as a seed, so players could enjoy the chaos of it over and over again. For those interested, use the seed GFVE LLLL to try it out.

In this challenge, you are pitted against your friend and foe, and it’s up to the dice to decide what you attack! This is a pretty straightforward challenge, with the goal of defeating the Anonymous Mask of Infamy. Your attacks will be constantly redirected with dice rolls, and you’ll need to build up a stockpile of souls before you’re even able to take a swing at the Final Boss. Don’t let it recruit any minions, as they supply it with extra health while they stay standing. Collect souls, defeat its minions, and try not to get hit by your team to finally take down this boss.

Below are the versions of Anonymous Mask of Infamy for each of the following game modes: Normal, Hard, Ultra Hard, and Competitive.

Spicy Cards Confirmed?

The top of the month comes with new cards for the Unboxing of Isaac t-shirt subscription service! Edmund showed up for a livestream to reveal his new, intentionally grungy, office and to announce the latest additions as well as some other interesting details on other things.

Let’s begin with the Ascent-themed cards to be included with the Unboxing of Isaac subscription. This month we’ve been shown Eden’s Soul, Seraphim, and The Stairway, all of which include interesting effects. Two of these cards are heavily centered around the number 7, being a very symbolic number in Christianity, which is fitting for the theme this month. Eden’s Soul and The Stairway both have powerful deck-stacking opportunities that could make for game-shaping play. Seraphim offers a fun way to boost your attacks, giving you an advantage on your 1st, 3rd, and 5th rolls each turn. It’s worth noting that this month’s shop promo is a Jesus Juice drink cozy, which makes this the first month that it isn’t a Four Souls card.

Edmund announced that anyone who purchased the Mystery Box Tier from the Four Souls: Requiem Kickstarter campaign will be receiving a copy of Convention Eden in their boxes. While this only increases the number of Convention Edens in the wild by 15, it’s still cool nonetheless.

Additionally, an elusive mystery promo will be given to those who go above and beyond for the Unboxing of Isaac fan submissions. Could this be the “official release” of the full-body version of Henry that was revealed, then altered during the Kickstarter campaign? Much speculation has surrounded when that card will resurface, and as Edmund mentioned in the stream, it was going to be a “spicy” addition. To be clear, the mystery card has not been revealed at this time. Below is an updated version of what the full-bodied Henry could look like:

Speaking of spicy cards, Edmund confirmed that he’d like to find a way to incorporate the controversial Christine Chandler (Chris Chan/Sonichu) card that was unlocked and revoked during the Requiem Kickstarter following the allegations against her. From the sound of it, it would be a while after the dust settled on the release of Requiem so that the other IPs involved would not have any direct ties. Additionally, this could be affected with consideration of her case’s pending investigation/charges. For those unaware, this is the card designed by Christine Chandler, though it is not an officially released card at this time:

Bum-Bo’s physical release is confirmed to have additional contents, which will likely include an alt-art Bumbo card and possible extras, to be revealed later. There wasn’t much mention of what these cards would be, but from the sound of it, we could hope for at least 2-3 cards or more with this promotion!

That wraps up this month’s major announcements, with a new challenge to be unveiled around the middle of the month, so stay tuned for that. As a reminder to those with the unboxing subscription, try to “think outside the box” as Edmund says, to earn a mystery Four Souls promo card and be the envy of the town. Good luck to all who create submissions!

Greed’s Gamble Challenge

Maestro Media has just announced the third Four Souls challenge via tweet today. This challenge focuses on defeating Greed, well protected by his stack of coins. To access the PDF, visit Maestro Media and scroll down past the news section for a direct download link.

The preface reads:

Greed’s… well, greed, knows no bounds: he is determined to rob Isaac of every cent he owns – and he’s not far off succeeding! Can you guide your characters to kill monsters, gain cents, and tip the scales back in your favor? Or will you be left penniless by the merciless Greed like so many before you…

To claim victory in this challenge, players must face Avaricious Greed. It starts with counters that prevent damage, and through various means, players are able to remove them, allowing it to be damaged and ultimately defeated. New Month, New Cards, and Some Surprises!

To start the month of June with a bang, Edmund hosted an Unboxing of Isaac stream to announce what new cards (and other things) are coming up in the world of Isaac.

To celebrate the summer and BBQ season, July’s box will include three (different) cubes of meat. They synergize and stack with one another, and there’s wording that could possibly elude to new cards in the future!

It has been confirmed that not all Unboxing of Isaac or monthly shop promos will be Four Souls cards. That being said, THIS month’s purchase will include Short Fuse to celebrate fireworks season!

Advertisements

Additionally, Maestro Media will be attending UK Games Expo, and it was revealed that there will be an alt art Eden promo card given out to attendees who participate in their Isaac-themed activity. Maestro Media will be at UK Games Expo from June 3rd-5th in Hall 1, at the Asmodee UK booth, 1-1092. There will be demos of Four Souls: Requiem (with Base V2) available to play. It’s worth noting that Requiem will be playable, but not purchasable from the booth at this time. It was also confirmed that the Eden card will be given out at all conventions that Maestro Media attends this year, globally. Their next scheduled convention is Gen Con, which is in Indianapolis, IN (USA), August 4-7th, 2022.

The new alt art Eden features the work of Sony Shock and will bear the official website address on it. This brings the current count of Eden cards in the game to 9, which gives you plenty of options to pick from.

That wraps up the announcements from today’s stream. They are ramping up promo cards in so many forms, so keep your eyes peeled to this website and the official Twitter accounts for Edmund and MaestroMedia to ensure you don’t miss out on all this cool stuff.

That was until now, when Mom, fueled with the desire to serve her God and prove she loves Him above all else, has Isaac cornered! It looks like the end of the line for Isaac, but perhaps if your characters can work together, fighting Mom and gaining souls, an angel might be sent down from above to stop her hand just in time…

All Game Modes

In this challenge, players are pitted against Devout Mom! with hopes to use The Bible against her and claim victory. It’s primarily intended for solo and co-op modes, though there are expanded rules to incorporate the other gameplay options.

Rainbow Blight Box Contents

Edmund unveiled the contents of June’s box during a live stream on May 6th, 2022! This month is paying tribute to Pride Month, with nods towards some of the lighter-themed items and imagery in the world of Isaac.

For this month’s subscription, Four Souls gained 3 new treasure cards, Glitter Bombs, My Little Unicorn, and Three Dollar Bill. Glitter Bombs is extra special, as it introduces a completely unique mechanic to the game.

Due to the large volume of subscriptions, MaestroMedia has been able to secure a new shipping facility based out of Ohio. This has allowed them to cut the shipping costs by nearly half for most of the United States and partial discounts for other parts of the world. The annual subscription is still by far the most cost effective, for those willing to wait.

May’s Dogma-themed box will be shipping out next Wednesday, May 11th, and is expected to start arriving shortly thereafter. If you were curious on the quality of the Requiem print run, these cards all use the same printer and will be nearly identical to Requiem when it arrives.

In other exciting news, Maestro Media will be running a Father’s Day promotion similar to last month! It’s probably no surprise, but this card is none other than Dad’s Ring. To receive this card, either subscribe (or stay subscribed) to the Unboxing of Isaac T-shirt service, or make a purchase from the Maestro Media website.

Now that the T-shirt service is picking up steam and ironing out some of it’s wrinkles *cringe*, how are you feeling about it?
