How the Krampus Stole Christmas
Snow on the ground, lights twinkling from within a cozy tree – Christmas approaches! Last year, Isaac may have only gotten a lump of coal, but he is hopeful this year will be better – surely some of the presents under the tree must be for him? Unfortunately for Isaac, Krampus has other ideas. Can you protect the gifts and save Christmas? Or will the antics of the thieving Christmas demon leave you empty handed…
The challenge is lost if all 4 presents are destroyed or if the timer reaches 0.
Setup
Choose a difficulty level for the challenge: Normal Hard Ultra Hard
Set up as normal for solitaire/co-op mode.
Place Pilfering Krampus face up to one side of the monster slots in a final boss slot (feel free to use your regular Krampus card as a stand-in to represent this!)
Place 4 treasure cards facedown to one side of the play area. These become the ¢ present, the loot present, the treasure present, and the soul present. These presents start with different numbers of counters on them depending on the chosen difficulty level.

Global Modifiers
All I Want for Christmas If you would gain rewards from a monster or gain a soul, you may instead forego the reward or soul and put counters on the present of the respective type (¢, loot, treasure, or soul) equal to the amount of that resource foregone.
What’s in the Box? If a present is reduced to 0 counters, destroy it. Put the top 3 () or 4 (/) cards of the monster deck in minion slots.
Happy Holidays! The first time there are 5 (), 6 (), or 7 () souls controlled by all players, each present is flipped, becomes an item, and is gained by a player of the active player’s choice.
Remember that the specific rules and global modifiers for this challenge are used in addition to the general challenge rules that apply to all challenges. The general challenge rules can be downloaded separately from maestromedia.com.

Competitive Variant
This challenge is primarily designed for solo and co-op mode, but you can also play a game of regular competitive Four Souls with an added twist.
Setup as normal for a competitive game. Place Pilfering Krampus face up to one side of the monster slots in a final boss slot (use the competitive variant version of Pilfering Krampus).
Present slots are a new type of slot specific to this challenge. Each player has their own personal present slots. Monsters in present slots are considered minions. Like minion slots, present slots are temporary and are not refilled when empty. Players may only attack minions in their own present slots, not those controlled by other players.
Pilfering Krampus can’t be attacked or take damage while the active player controls less than 3 souls, or while there is a monster in a present slot controlled by the active player.
Pilfering Krampus will steal from each player’s personal stash of presents at the start of their turn. For the competitive variant, the presents start with the following numbers of counters: ¢ present– 6 counters Loot present– 2 counters Treasure present– 2 counters Soul present– 2 counters
Much like the solo and co-op version of the challenge, if a present reaches 0 counters, put 3 monster cards in present slots. Any presents still standing by the time a player controls 3 souls will be flipped and gained as items. The first player to kill Pilfering Krampus wins the game.

FAQ
What happens if one of the cards I put in a minion slot when a present is opened is an event card? When an event card is put in a minion slot, it resolves just the same as if it was put in a monster slot. You will not refill the slot after the event has resolved and is put into discard, however, as minion slots are temporary.
Once a present is flipped, can Pilfering Krampus still try to steal it? No. Pilfering Krampus’ ability specifically targets presents. Once the global modifier Happy Holidays! has triggered, the presents become items and, as such, can no longer be targeted by the ability.
